Air freight packaging is subject to strict regulations. Therefore, during air transport, the packaging of goods must strictly adhere to relevant air freight regulations to ensure the safe arrival of the goods at the designated destination.
General Regulations for Cargo Packaging
1. Cargo packaging should be sturdy and intact, preventing breakage, leakage, or loss of contents during transport; preventing damage or deterioration of goods due to stacking, friction, vibration, or changes in air pressure or temperature; and preventing injury to operators or contamination of aircraft, ground equipment, and other items.
2. Padding materials (such as sawdust and paper scraps) inside the packaging must not leak out. Except for goods packaged in paper bags (such as documents and materials), all shipped goods should be secured with packing straps. The use of straw bags or straw ropes for packaging or binding goods is strictly prohibited.
3. In addition to being suitable for the nature, condition, and weight of the goods, the packaging should facilitate handling, loading, unloading, and stacking; the outer surface of the packaging should not have protruding nails, hooks, thorns, etc.; the packaging should be clean, dry, and free of odors and oil stains.
4. The strapping used to secure the goods should be able to withstand the full weight of the goods and ensure that it will not break when the goods are lifted.
5. If the packaging of the goods does not comply with the relevant provisions in this manual, the shipper should be required to improve or repackage the goods before acceptance.
