On June 4th, our company assigned Ayush, a long-term customer in Fiji, to me for follow-up. The customer primarily deals in smart locks, and his current requirement was to consolidate goods from multiple suppliers and ship them to Fiji. All goods needed to be sent to our office first, and then shipped in a single shipment after all items were collected and consolidated, avoiding the incurred extra shipping costs for multiple shipments.
The customer's goods were from diverse sources, including complete lock units and various small accessories, with built-in batteries. Upon arrival, we consolidated the smaller items into larger packages, reducing volume and weight, thus saving the customer on shipping costs. I verified the channel rules in advance; civilian smart locks with built-in batteries do not require MSDS or shipping certification, only basic documents are needed for customs clearance, easing the client's documentation burden.
A minor hiccup occurred during the coordination process: I repeatedly confirmed whether the shipment was complete, and the customer consistently assured me that everything was in order. However, after all the goods were in the warehouse, the customer revealed that one accessory had not been sent and needed to be shipped out after the remaining item could be complete. The goods remained in the warehouse for nearly two weeks. While this would incur storage fees according to regulations, considering the customer is a long-term customer, I applied to the company to waive the storage fees. During this period, I provided daily updates on the receiving and processing progress to alleviate the customer's concerns.
The goods were successfully shipped on July 9th and are expected to arrive on July 14th. The customer gave positive feedback, praising my patient service, transparent pricing with no hidden charges, familiarity with export regulations for goods containing batteries, and proactive updates on every step of the logistics process, deeming me highly professional.

My reflections: This experience has been very insightful. The consolidation process is lengthy; this particular instance, coordinating from early June to early July before shipment, truly tested my patience. Our core value extends beyond shipping. With diverse suppliers and numerous packages, simple consolidation and packing can save customers money on shipping costs. This tangible service is what earns customer trust.
In case of unexpected situations like delayed shipments, if the customer's cargo is not large, we can appropriately reduce storage fees within company limits. This is also a kind of preferential treatment for our long-term customers. Seemingly simple packing and consolidation effectively reduce costs for customers, and flexible coordination in special circumstances helps maintain customer relationships. Furthermore, this customer communicates readily and efficiently; only through mutual cooperation can complex consolidation orders be completed efficiently.
